Babington House is not simply a historical landmark; it’s deeply embedded in the wider context of Somerset’s history. The estate’s agricultural practices, its relationship with nearby villages, and its role in local trade all offer valuable insights into the region’s development.

“The region’s rich heritage and ties to the music and art scene provide a broad network of suppliers for entertainment and styling,” she said. “Somerset also boasts a thriving local food scene, with farm-fresh produce and award-winning cider that add a unique flavor to weddings.”

Babington House Today: Modern Weddings Year Round

“Somerset shines in every season, but the best months for a wedding are typically late spring through early autumn—May to September,” said Frost. “During this time, the countryside is vibrant and bursting with nature, and the weather is generally mild and pleasant, perfect for utilising outdoor spaces for ceremonies and receptions.”

Somerset still falls under most UK weather protocols, though. Frost warns couples to stay prepared. “For any couple hosting their wedding in the UK, I always suggest having a wet weather plan in place, as we are known for our unpredictable weather,” she explains.

“For couples seeking to use in season flowers, May and June are in full bloom, while September offers a touch of autumn’s warmth. That said, winter weddings in Somerset can be equally enchanting, with roaring fireplaces, candlelit venues, and cozy, festive touches creating an intimate and romantic atmosphere.”
