New York Tattoo Convention Returns to Brooklyn’s Duggal Greenhouse for Its Fifth Year

The New York Tattoo Convention returns to the Duggal Greenhouse in Brooklyn from November 13 to 15, 2026, marking the fifth annual edition of an event that has quickly become a fixture on the international tattoo calendar.

Held inside one of the city’s most striking industrial event spaces, the three-day convention brings together tattoo artists from across the United States and abroad for a weekend of live tattooing, portfolio showcases, and competition. Attendees can watch work in progress at hundreds of booths, book sessions with artists they might otherwise wait months to see, and follow the judging panels that close out each day.

The convention has built its reputation on the strength of its judging roster, recruiting working artists with international competition records to evaluate entries. Among this year’s invited judges is Barcelona-born artist David Baena, known for a high-contrast, film noir approach to black-and-grey realism. Baena, who works out of Minimal NYC in Brooklyn, has served on jury panels at the Austin Tattoo Invitational and the Syracuse Tattoo Arts Festival, and returns to Spain in 2027 for judging spots at the Valencia and Alicante conventions.

That mix of local grounding and international reach is the convention’s signature. New York has no shortage of tattoo shops, but the Duggal Greenhouse weekend concentrates the scene into a single room: established names, rising artists, collectors comparing healed work, and first-time visitors who come for the spectacle and leave with an appointment booked.

The venue itself is part of the draw. Set in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the Duggal Greenhouse pairs raw industrial scale with a glass-walled event floor, giving the convention a gallery atmosphere that suits an art form increasingly shown in museums and auction houses as much as in studios.

For artists, the weekend is equal parts marketplace and reunion. Convention awards still carry weight on a résumé, and a strong showing in Brooklyn can fill a guest-spot calendar for the following year. For the public, it remains the simplest way to see the current state of tattooing, from fine-line minimalism to large-scale Japanese and black-and-grey work, in one place.

The New York Tattoo Convention runs November 13 to 15, 2026, at the Duggal Greenhouse, Brooklyn. Tickets and artist lineups are available through the convention’s official site.
